**WARNING GRAPHIC VISUALS** Xoco is a very sweet 2 YO FS Sharpei who was rescued by her mom after she was found abandoned at the local park. Unfortunately, Xoco got attacked by another dog and had severe necrotizing, gangrene wounds throughout her body. Her mom was unable to afford care at the local specialty clinic, so she sought out care from the local general practices. Due to her extensive, severe wounds, many general practices did not feel comfortable treating her wounds. Her mom found out about @vetsinvans and came to us for help. We anesthetized her for multiple bandage changes and found financial assistance for her mom, so that she can get the life and death treatment that she needed. We performed her initial treatments and then was out of town for our trip to Baja to provide much needed spay/neuter with @bajaspayneuter group. Because she had received her initial care through Vets in Vans, another clinic felt comfortable taking over her care while we were out of town. Xoco came back a couple months later for an ear infection treatment and she’s all healed up! We were able to provide her with life saving care and she was so happy to see us. We’re so happy we were able to help Xoco and so happy to see her happy and healthy!

Warning: GRAPHIC VIDEOS Rocky is a 9 year old Male Neutered German Shepherd who sustained a full thickeness circumferential laceration to his penis from another dog. He was bleeding profusely and started to get very anemic. He was seen at the ER clinic on Sunday and his hematocrit was 43 (normal). Hematocrit is the percentage by volume of red cells in your blood. By the time he saw us the next day for urgent surgery, his hematocrit had dropped to half to 20. 😱 Rocky was feeling sick and tired from the profuse blood loss. We took him to surgery and found the very large laceration to his penis and sutured the laceration together. He went home the same day and his owner reports that he’s doing very well. We’re so happy we could help Rocky and thankful that he recovered so well! #veterinarian #veterinarysocialwork #veterinarianlife #veterinariansofinstagram #bipocbusiness #germanshepherd #lacerationrepair #veterinarysurgeon

This 8 week old sweet baby girl came to us through @sfanimalcareandcontrol. She was found with a mandibular avulsion and she needed it repaired. She was in pain. @sfanimalcareandcontrol contacted us about repairing her jaw and spaying her at the same time. We were able to fix her up and she recovered very well! As you can see, she started begging for attention the next day 😄. We are so thankful for our partnership with @sfanimalcareandcontrol. Together we are able to keep more animals home with their families and prevent shelter intake. If you are looking for a new furry family member, please consider adopting from your local shelter. There are so many wonderful animals waiting to go home ❤️. #catsofinstagram #catstagram #kittensofinstagram #veterinarian #veterinarianlife #veterinariansofinstagram #spayneuter #spayandneutersaveslives #adoptdontshop #sheltercat

Do you remember Queen, our diaphragmatic hernia repair? She came back to have the second part of her surgery done! She healed up very well from her diaphragmatic hernia surgery and came back to have her leg amputated from her original injury due to a malunion (the fracture did not heal). We also spayed her at the same time! Queen is all fixed up and her mom is so happy to have her all healthy again. We love Queen and her mom and we wish them the best of luck! #veterinarysocialwork #veterinariansofinstagram #veterinarianlife #bipoc #dogsofinstagram #chihuahuasofinstagram #diaphragmatichernia #hitbycar #veterinarysurgery #legamputation #spayandneuter
