Bambi is a very sweet senior tiny chi who came to us because she had severe dental disease. She had severe plaque and calculus and had many infected and rotten teeth. She needed many extractions to make her comfortable. We were able to perform a dental on her and remove all but two lower canines. She is now able to eat pain free and she doesn’t have to worry about jaw fractures from rotten infected teeth weakening her bone. We’re so happy we could help Bambi! #veterinarysocialwork #veterinariansofinstagram #veterinarianlife #bipoc #dogsofinstagram #chihuahuasofinstagram #seniordog #dentalcare #dentalsurgery

Raider is a 3 year old adorable boy who ate something he wasn’t supposed to. By the time he came to see us, he had stopped eating for 5 days. His mom was very worried about him, but wasn’t able to afford veterinary care. She came to our clinic and asked for help because Raider was getting sicker. She had a high suspicion that he ingested something he wasn’t supposed to because she had seen him eating some bedding 5 days ago. Dr. Tracy Huang performed an exam and Dr. Lauren Park and her surgery team performed X-rays. The X-rays confirmed he had an obstruction in his intestines. When Dr. Park took him to surgery, she found that his had a linear obstruction from his stomach to his mid small intestines causing his intestines to “plicate” or bunch up together like an accordion. The foreign body was removed from the intestines and stomach and Raider made a full recovery. Thank you @sagecompassionforanimals for funding his surgery. Together we were able to save his life. Please donate through our website www.vetsinvans.org to help more pets like Raider and help @vetsinvans save more lives. #accessiblemedicine #veterinarymedicine #gisurgery #sheltermedicine #veterinarian #veterinarylife #veterinariansofinstagram #veterinarysurgeon #bipoc #womeninbusiness #foreignbody

Maxwell is a 12 week old puppy who presented to us for having vomiting and diarrhea for 5 days. He is fully vaccinated and his owner was concerned he had an obstruction because his dog sitter had given him some bones around the same time. We performed diagnostics and found him to be parvovirus positive. We treated him with outpatient care with fluids under the skin, broad spectrum antibiotics, antibiotics for his diarrhea, and anti nausea medications. We also sent him home with additional fluids for his owner to administer at home. His owner was so thankful we gave Maxwell a diagnosis and is now able to be treated with supportive care. We’re so happy we were able to help Maxwell and his loving owner! #veterinarymedicine #chihuahuasofinstagram #spayneuter #veterinarian #veterinariansofinstagram #bipoc #dogsofinstagram #puppiesofinstagram #parvovirus
